News – National Child Abuse Prevention Month
National Child Abuse Prevention Month is an annual observance in the United States dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse. April has been designated Child Abuse Prevention Month in the USA since 1983. At For The Child, we believe that the most important thing we can do to help children be safe and thrive is to support families before they reach a crisis. Throughout COVID-19, we have tripled support to low income, stressed families with virtual parent support groups, family events and workshops that empower families to protect and support their children, and curbside giving of food, grocery store vouchers, games, books, school supplies, and arts materials to support children in distance learning. Our Child Abuse Program trauma recovery services for children who have been abused are fully operational using a combination of in-person and telehealth therapy. To support our work, donate on this website.
